Installing a Sewer Backflow Valve

A floor drain style sewer backflow valve is designed to keep sewage flowing in only one direction–from your floor drain to the Sanitary Sewer. Should the Sanitary Sewer become flooded, a properly installed and maintained sewer backflow valve will prevent sewage from backing up through your floor drain.

Your sewer backflow valve must be installed securely and checked regularly to operate properly! This valve should be installed flush with the floor and seated securely in the pipe when it is installed in the floor drain. By occasionally regressing the float road and ensuring that the float moves freely up and down, you can keep your sewer backflow valve in good condition and take a major step forward in basement flooding prevention.  If you experience a backflow emergency, please call 1-844-734-6366.
